VoxelCraft is updated regularly. Here's what has been added and improved over time, newest first.
Living World Update
June 2026
- Cities now have moving traffic and citizens who wander the streets, duck into buildings, and flee when disaster strikes.
- Volcanoes now actively erupt — launching lava bombs, raining ash and embers, and sending lava flows down their slopes.
- Added rush-hour traffic that rises and falls with the in-game time of day.
- Earthquakes and floods can now strike on their own, not just on command.
- Major performance work for smoother movement and lighter load on phones and tablets.
Disasters & Cities Update
June 2026
- Added volcanoes — towering basalt cones with lava-filled craters.
- Added generated cities with street grids, shops and tall buildings.
- Added earthquakes (screen shake + ground fissures) and floods (rising, then receding water).
- Added the new Aetheria sky dimension of radiant floating islands.
Sandbox Tools Update
May 2026
- Added the Nuke block, Black Hole egg and Tsunami egg for large-scale world effects.
- Added quicksand that you sink into and have to struggle out of.
- The black hole now pulls in the player, creatures and terrain as spiralling debris.
Mobile & Controls Update
May 2026
- Added full touch controls: an analog joystick, drag-to-look and tap-to-mine.
- Added on-screen buttons for placing, jumping, flying, spells and menus.
- Improved device detection so phones and tablets run the lighter, smoother profile.
Abilities & Dimensions Update
April 2026
- Added the Aeon Forge ability system with four skill trees and active spells.
- Added multiple dimensions reachable through craftable portals.
- Added procedural sound effects for mining, placing, combat and spells.
- Added more creatures, including dimension-specific enemies and a boss.
Initial Release

- Infinite procedurally generated world with biomes, caves and oceans.
- Mining, crafting, building and a day/night cycle.
- Over a hundred block types and a working inventory.
